Sure, some things observed from a more modern perspective make me groan, such as referring to women as "girls" in some instances, and the episode where Janice Lester couldn't become captain because she was a woman, so she tried to take over Kirk's body. However, Kirk did say that he disagreed with the idea that women couldn't be captains.
